The Story Behind Daun Muda
In 2014, Javanegra Gourmet Atelier was born out of serendipity. Reni and I used to invite our friends on the weekends for dinner, where I’d cook Spanish dishes with the best ingredients we could find in Europe and Japan — little did we know, it led us to open our own restaurant together with our coffee roaster.
Cooking authentic Spanish food every day inspired us to delve deeper into a variety of cuisines. Born from Palembang, I decided to explore an array of dishes from my hometown as well as Manado, and Arabia Malay, East Coast of Sumatra — reminiscing my family’s recipes at home. This curiosity along with enormous support from our friends and family led us to discover a new culinary adventure, presenting you Daun Muda Soul Food.
We are here to bring you a selection of comfort food, evoking a nostalgic feeling, and enkindling affection to our nation’s rich culture through fresh spices and our original recipes.
